Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – November 18, 2024 – Building on its reputation as a nearshore pioneer, Auxis, a leading global outsourcing provider, today announced the launch of its Global Services Center in Barranquilla, Colombia. The state-of-the-art office, which will serve as Auxis’ main delivery center in Colombia, reinforces the company’s commitment to offering clients a unique, fully integrated outsourcing platform that pulls from the strengths of Latin America’s top markets.
With its mission of “Let’s Build the Future Together” permeating the design of its office in the Bancolombia Caribe Tower, Auxis’ expansion is part of a growth-focused strategy projected to nearly double its Colombia operations to nearly 400 employees by the end of 2025.
Auxis is one of the only leading outsourcing providers to offer a true nearshore-centric delivery model, maintaining 1,200 shared services employees across Latin America and plans for continued growth. The Barranquilla Global Services Center integrates seamlessly with Auxis’ other Colombian operations in Bogotá and Medellín, as well as its other main delivery center in Costa Rica and strategic hubs in Mexico, Argentina, and Guatemala.
“Our expansion in Barranquilla is not only in response to the increasing demand for nearshoring, but also reflects our commitment to developing and leveraging local talent in Colombia. Our integrated delivery platform is strategically designed to capture the unique value of each of our markets, and Barranquilla’s location, progressiveness, and talent quality enriches our capabilities across service lines. We have no doubt this move will further strengthen our ability to provide high quality, customized solutions that meet our customers’ evolving needs.”
– Raul Vega, Founder and CEO
Known as the “Golden Gate” of Colombia due to its northern location, Barranquilla provides easy access from North America for organizations interested in nearshoring operations. Ranked by Kearney’s “2023 Global Services Location Index” as the most financially attractive of LATAM’s top markets, Colombia combines highly skilled talent with the most significant labor cost savings in Latin America.
Colombia ranks second in Latin America for skilled talent availability on the “2024 IMD World Talent Ranking,” offering the ability to establish scalable shared services organizations (SSOs) in multiple cities with more than 1 million inhabitants.
Surging demand for Auxis’ nearshore services stands as testament to its vision that North American enterprises needed an alternative to the challenges of outsourcing to Asia. With the launch of its Global Delivery Center in Costa Rica in 2010, Auxis pioneered a nearshore model that offers the highly educated talent, real-time communication, strong English proficiency, cultural alignment, and deep familiarity with U.S. operations to support more complex, collaborative, time-sensitive processes.
Since then, Auxis has more than quadrupled its presence in Latin America, expanding its nearshore platform into Colombia in 2021 to offer businesses access to a new talent pool and additional opportunities for cost savings. Today, North America is the #1 market supported by LATAM SSOs – with enterprises reporting significantly higher satisfaction in LATAM (87%) than Asia (53%) and even North America (69%), the “2024 State of the GBS & Outsourcing Industry in Latin America” report found.
Auxis’ Barranquilla office features modern displays by a renowned local graffiti artist, including a mural conveying the city’s evolution from coffee plantation to global destination. Other rooms are painted to reflect key Colombian cities in the spirit of collaboration and innovation, along with Auxis core messaging reflecting company values and commitment to growth.
“We didn’t want to just create an office for people to come and work in, we wanted to build a culture in Barranquilla. We want our employees to feel that they’ve entered a new dimension, one that reminds them of the potential of Colombia, Latin America, and Auxis to improve operations for North American clients well into the future, while also enhancing the local economy.”
– Lizzie Arroyo, Vice President of Human Resources and Administration
